We had a little sunset last Thursday that had the potential to be one of those amazing take your breath away kind of sunsets, but didn’t quite get there. There was a perfect bank of clouds and they were clearing on the horizon which would let the rays sneak under the clouds and light up the whole sky. Unfortunately the clouds lifted about 5 minutes too late to let the full rays peak through. A few got through but not enough to light the sky on fire. It was still pretty though.
This has not been a good year for us growing flowers in pots. We started out earlier growing seedlings in the house filled with good intentions, but pretty much everything that could go wrong did. Late snows, our shed collapsing from too much snow trapping our pots inside etc. We got a handful of plants into one pot that didn’t grow at all for weeks, we had planted a wildflower mix and several other things so we were not even sure what they were. Finally the plants took off and now they are these pretty yellow blooms.
On Monday I was sitting at the computer and noticed it was kind of misting by the window. We had been having thunder showers all week so this was nothing unusual. But the sun was out and it was late in the day, about an hour before sunset and I thought geez that is the perfect condition for a rainbow and I got up and went to the back sliding door and there is was a gorgeous double rainbow. It was right here close, and too big to even get the whole thing in the frame, even with the wide angle the sp-550-uz has. It got stronger and weaker off an on as the sprinkles came and went.
